Endowment builds the capacity to ensure that our community is a caring and safe place where children thrive, adults and families succeed and basics needs are maintained.
A United Way Endowment Fund was created to ensure the work and mission of United Way, as a leader in uniting action around the most challenging issues facing our community, continues for future generations. Our endowment fund, established with the Rochester Area Foundation, keeps endowed dollars in perpetuity providing United Way of Olmsted County with annual earnings to carry out our important work.
A gift to the United Way endowment is an opportunity to grow your giving to change lives today and in the future. Gifts may be directed to the endowment fund throughout the year.
Gifts of cash, stock, or planned gifts – bequests, trusts, life insurance, beneficiary designation proceeds, charitable gift annuities – are ways to endow a donation.
Gifts and pledges may be sent to: United Way of Olmsted County or to the Rochester Area Foundation designated for the United Way Endowment Fund.
“My gift to United Way’s endowment matters because I can provide a gift over several years and in planned (estate) giving that I know will always benefit the United Way organization. Only the appreciated value of the gifts will be used annually, but the principal will remain for future generations. A great way to leave a legacy gift to our community.” Bill Wiktor, retired IBM employee and an endowment contributor.
