Helping Students Succeed
United Way of Olmsted County's Running Start for School is a community-wide backpack and school supply drive to ensure that every child in our community is prepared to succeed in school. This year, we provided needed supplies to more than 2,000 students enrolled in participating schools across Olmsted County. To achieve our goal, we rely on the community to get involved by donating, hosting a collection, volunteering, and encouraging others to help our children and youth reach their potential in school and the community.
Running Start for School relies on in-kind donations from generous community members to ensure that every child in Olmsted County has the tools they need to succeed in school. We typically host collection bins at local businesses, agencies, religious institutions, etc. United Way of Olmsted County is dedicated to the safety of our community members and because of this, we are unable to accept donationated supplies from the public at our office building or any other location.
- To donate supplies to our program this year, please visit our online registry, Roonga, beginning June 1st, 2020. This is the only way United Way of Olmsted County will be accepting school supplies to distribute to students this year.
