Rochester, MN – United Way of Olmsted County (UWOC), in partnership with Rochester Motor Cars, is proud to announce the 2023 Give United Drawing Winner! Melissa Albrecht of Rochester, Minnesota, was randomly selected from a pool of nearly 650 entries during a UWOC board meeting on January 16, 2024.

Albrecht donated to UWOC last summer through the organization’s annual Running Start for School backpack and supply drive. Thanks to the online nature of the drive, “I didn't have to go out and buy a bunch of supplies, United Way would take care of getting them to who needed it most,” she says. “I know how costly back to school can be for parents and was so grateful for the opportunity to give back.”

Thanks to UWOC’s partnership with Rochester Motor Cars, Albrecht now has a two-year lease on a new Ford Edge. “Financially, I'll have more flexibility to give back to causes that are equally as important,” she shares. “I hope to be able to pass on my good fortune to bless someone else's life.”

First-time donors who gave to United Way of Olmsted County before December 31, 2023, were entered for a chance to win this lease on a new vehicle. “We are honored to partner with United Way’s efforts to drive contributions in support of those in need in our community. With one of our core values being ‘the value of being a good community citizen,’ we believe it is imperative to support those making the most significant impact,” says Mike Enke, Executive Manager at Rochester Motor Cars.

Local supporters like Melissa fuel United Way of Olmsted County’s mission. Our work is far from over, and we invite readers to donate today at www.uwolmsted.org/donate
