United Way of Olmsted County Privacy Notice

This privacy notice discloses the privacy practices for United Way of Olmsted County. It
will notify you of the following:
1. What personally identifiable information is collected from you, how it is used and
with whom it may be shared.
2. What choices are available to you regarding the use of your data.
3. The security procedures in place to protect the misuse of your information.
4. How you can correct any inaccuracies in the information.

Information Collection, Use, and Sharing

United Way of Olmsted County only has access to the information that you voluntarily
share with us or that may have been provided to us by a third party (via e-mail or other
direct contact). If you initiate contact with us, we may use your information on file to
respond to you regarding the request or reason you contacted us. If requested, we will not
share your information with any third-party outside of our organization, other than as
necessary to fulfill any request you may have made.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about
upcoming events, new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

Your Access to and Control Over Information

You may opt out of any future contact from us at any time. You can email

• See what data we have about you, if any.
• Change/correct any data we have about you.
• Have us delete any data we have about you (except where prohibited by law).
• Express any concern you have about our use of your data.

Security

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information
to United Way of Olmsted County, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information (such as credit card data), that information is
encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this online by looking for
a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser or looking for “https” at the
beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also
protect your information offline. Only employees or assigned volunteers who need the
information to perform a specific job (for example, billing or customer service) are granted
access to personally identifiable information. We do not keep credit card data after a
transaction has been processed.

Donor Privacy Information

United Way of Olmsted County respects the privacy of its donors and has put in place this
Donor Privacy Policy to honor donors’ rights.

United Way of Olmsted County collects and uses personal information, such as name,
address, phone number and email address when a donor or their employer voluntarily
provides it to us.

In addition, United Way of Olmsted County keeps a record of each donor’s giving history.
This information is kept on file for IRS purposes and is also used by the Development
Department to analyze overall giving patterns in order to make more accurate budget
projections. All personal information is kept in a secure database with limited employee
access.

United Way of Olmsted County may share your personally identifiable information, as well
as a record of donations or contact with us, with third-party marketing service partners in
order to create and deliver advertising tailored to your interests. Please email
