Born Learning Trails

What is Born Learning?

United Way Born Learning is an initiative that gives parents and caregivers the tools, resources and opportunities they need to make the most of their children’s early years. Found in nearly 1,000 communities worldwide, Born Learning Trails support language, literacy and social skills development, and remind us that learning can be fun!

In early 2000s, United Way of Olmsted County installed Rochester's very first Born Learning Trail near River Center Plaza (at approximately 1611 N Broadway Ave., Rochester). This trail contains 10 interactive signs in English with activities to turn an outdoor trip into a fun learning experience. In the future, United Way will be seeking a corporate partner to sponsor the revitalization of this trail! Reach out to us for more details.
