PROMOTING WELLNESS AND HEALTH CARE ACCESS

Our donors, advocates, and volunteers are making a difference in HEALTH. With funding awards to partners that support programs and initiatives that mobilize resources and volunteers, we are contributing to a supportive and healthy community.

WHY THIS IS IMPORTANT: The quality of life for all  us is connected in important ways to the health and health care available to all of us.

Healthy children miss fewer days of school and are better prepared to learn. Adults find it difficult to hold a job when they are not healthy.

The uninsured are less likely to access preventive care or seek early treatment of an illness and therefore may miss more time at work or school. Using health care appropriately, instead of the ER in non-emergencies, lowers the cost of health care for everyone.

Untreated mental health issues interfere with academic achievement, employment, and housing.

What we need to accomplish:

  • Under and uninsured 3 to 14 year-olds receive preventative dental care and education.
  • Uninsured Olmsted County residents receive basic health care to stabilize and improve their health.
  • Uninsured and low-income people receive early interventions for mental illness in community settings.
  • People obtain or retain Health care.

Partnering Programs & Initiatives: HEALTH

  • Insurance Retention, Health Care Access, Community Health Worker Co-Supervisory Pilot Program (Intercultural Mutual Assistance Association)
  • Olmsted Happy Teeth (Children's Dental Health Center)
  • Rapid Access Clinic (Zumbro Valley Mental Health Center, Olmsted County Social Services)
  • Families Matter (Family Service Rochester, NAMI SE MN)
  • Dental Care (Community Dental Center)
