Conducting a Successful Leadership Giving Campaign Your organization’s leadership is an important part of your campaign. Getting management involved will secure their support from the beginning and may increase your workplace campaign total. Secure a Leadership Giving Chair Select a staff member who can work closely with the Employee Campaign Coordinator to implement a Leadership Campaign. Form a Leadership Giving Committee When possible, create a committee representing the various departments. Ideally the committee is comprised of those who are currently Leaders In Giving and potential leadership investors. Encourage all committee members to become Leaders In Giving. Consult with United Way Staff The Leadership Giving chair and committee will receive materials and guidance in the techniques for developing a successful leadership campaign that meets your organization’s needs. United Way can assist in the various aspects of planning, solicitation and developing presentations. Identify Potential Leaders In Giving Determine new prospects for leadership giving based on compensation and/or position with the organization. Include individuals currently giving $500 or more annually. Personalize Pledge Materials Prepare and personalize each prospect’s pledge card and leadership packet with a note or special message. Enclose a letter from your CEO endorsing United Way and inviting Leaders In Giving participation. For help with any aspect of a Leadership Giving Campaign, please contact:
