A movement of donors, advocates, and volunteers with a passion to get things done.
United Way advances the common good by creating opportunities for a better life for all. Our focus is on education, income, and health - the building blocks for a good quality of life. We also support programs and services that help meet basics needs in our community. United Way recruits people and organizations who bring the passion, expertise, and resources we need to get things done.
United Way of Olmsted County is an agent of community change that inspires hope, creates opportunity, and champions people in need.
As donors, volunteers, advocates, and partners, we are committed to creating a supportive, safe, healthy, and welcoming community where individuals and families are thriving and full of hope. Living united, we are part of the change.
United Way of Olmsted County is governed by volunteers. Volunteers assess community needs; set goals; award funds to projects and services to meet these goals; establish and monitor measures of progress; evaluate programs and services the receive United Way support and report the results to the community. Volunteers oversee the finances of the organization and the programs and services that receive awards. Volunteers recruit donors. Volunteers collect and distribute resources.
Donors contribute funds and other resources that support United Way goals.
Advocates carry the United Way message, sharing our mission, our goals, and opportunities to serve and be served.
Our work is supported by a small, dedicated staff who facilitate and manage our mission in the community.
